IT Support Engineer, Vista, Windows 2003 Server, AD, £18-20k, based in North Bristol.
Our client a national systems consultancy has a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support professional with about 2 years IT Support experience. The successful individual must have good experience with servers and desktops, networking and user support. More importantly someone with a keen interest in IT, combined with a friendly professional manner, common sense and a good eye for £troubleshooting£.
65% of your role will be 1st and 2nd Line support; management of user accounts, configuration and management of physical network access, general helpdesk and desktop support. The other 35% of your role is Infrastructure Development; suggesting improvements and changes to the business infrastructure, providing support to senior IT support engineer£s, assisting in the replacement of servers, desktops, networking infrastructure technologies.
Essential are the following:
- College or Degree (or equivalent) in a computing discipline.
- Good experience in the majority: Vista Enterprise, Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, Office 2007 Enterprise, MS SharePoint 2007, MS SQL Server 2005, MS Exchange 2003 Server.
- 2+ years IT Support experience.
- Proven track record of using an enterprise level helpdesk system
- Good understanding of troubleshooting, server and desktop operating systems and networking issues.
- Be eligible for a basic UK security clearance.
- Full UK driving license.
