A GLOBAL BPM VENDOR

The Challenge

To source multi-lingual people, with a talent for technical support, able to support clients around the world

Xist4 has been recruiting for the past seven years on behalf of a Global BPM vendor, a leader in infrastructure and business intelligence software. This company is renowned for developing new software tailored to their client’s needs, as part of their commitment to their worldwide customers the software vendor also provides a constant technical support facility. At the beginning of a major roll out, this frequently means that the vendor needs to increase their multi-lingual support staff to be able deal with global demand for their enterprise software.

The Solution

When faced with this urgent need to increase their support staff the global vendor has repeatedly turned to their recruitment partner Xist4 with whom they have an ongoing relationship. Xist4 fully appreciates and understands the challenging business environment that the software company works within and the urgency to find talented people who can be part of their technical support team.

One of the key considerations for this client was to ensure that new people joining them would be highly proficient application support staff with the ability to read programming code (i.e. Java, C#, C++ or C), but who would not seek a development role. They needed to be happy in a customer centric, problem solving position, where they would be dealing with clients over the phone, e-mail and remotely, diagnosing and solving any software issues.

The Results

Xist4 has consistently sourced candidates who met this global BPM vendor’s precise requirements by rigidly following their own tried and tested formula.

Intially Xist4 identified a number of candidates with the right balance of qualifications and skills from their expansive database and referral networks, as well as advertising the role on the most popular specialised job boards. Before presenting the vendor with prospective candidates, Xist4 assessed each person’s competency during a telephone, skype and/or face to face interview.

Once the experienced account manager was satisfied that everyone matched the full criteria of the role, Xist4 put their name on a refined short list which was sent to the global BPM vendor. This process made it much easier and quicker for the vendor to choose the right person, since much of the hard work of finding and identifying people had already been done for them. Following the interviews Xist4 continued to act on behalf of the global BPM vendor negotiating with the ideal person to offer them a position within the company.

“We have been pleased with the response to vacancy briefs received from Xist4 IT Recruitment together with their professionalism and knowledge of the market place.

Xist4 IT Recruitment have been particularly effective in supplying candidates in areas that other agencies have struggled with. We look forward to continuing this effective and friendly relationship in the years to come.”

BRITISH OWNED MULTINATIONAL MANUFACTURER

The Challenge

To encourage quality candidates to join a British owned multinational company based in a small Somerset town.

For a multinational manufacturing company having the space to build and develop their popular range of domestic, commercial and industrial cleaning and maintenance equipment is important for their business development.  From modest beginnings in 1969 the company out grew three sites before settling in provincial Somerset town, where they are still headquartered.

Being the key employer in the area increased this company’s reliance upon using a recruitment company; Xist4 has been working in partnership with them for over seven years.  During this time Xist4 has successfully sourced people keen to work in this beautiful part of the West Country in a variety of IT positions ranging from DBA Manager, Network Support, Desktop Support Analyst and Oracle Analyst Programmer.

The Solution

Xist4 excels at sourcing the right talented individual for companies regardless of their location; to ensure that they can match a person with a company where they can grow and help the business succeed Xist4 believes in taking the time to understand each and every candidate.  This thorough process was a vital part in the strategic search for each IT vacancy as the need arose.

Before Xist4 even presented CV’s from possible candidates to their client, they spent time looking for people on their expansive databases, as well as placing information on key job boards.  Having found people who matched the job requirements Xist4 took time to qualify the suitability of each person during a face to face interview where they could assess how committed someone would be to working for one of the UK’s leading cleaning manufacturers.

The Results

This important step meant that by the time the client was introduced to potential candidates Xist4 could confidently know that each and everyone was happy to consider moving or travelling to this remote part of Somerset.

Another vital component to the Xist4 process, which played an important role in filling vacancies for this multinational company, was Xist4’s commitment to the candidate themselves.  Xist4 spent time explaining to each prospective person what the role entailed and moreover highlighted the benefits of working for this company, explaining more about the culture of the company before they went to an interview with the IS manager.  Once appointed, Xist4 remained in contact with the successful applicant conducting a review phone call after three months of being in the role.

"We’ve worked with Xist4 for over 5 years. Their knowledge, expertise in filling highly specialist IT vacancies in remote locations is exceptional. They’ve provided up strong applicants that match our exacting requirements, and they qualify applicants thoroughly before forwarding their CV."

Online Legal Services Company

The Challenge

To source a creative .Net Developer at short notice to develop a new e.commerce site

Maintaining a competitive advantage means staying ahead of your competitors and being able to react quickly to changes. Back in 2011 when the Legal Services Act paved the way to make to legal services more accessible, a Bristol based online legal services company was quick to seize the opportunity to expand their web presence via their website.

They had an immediate requirement to expand their team with a .Net Developer who would be able to help develop an entirely new website following this change in legislation which came into effect on 6th October.  Any delay in sourcing a suitable person could result in a competitor being able to launch a website before they could.

The Solution

Xist4 is an IT recruitment agency with a vast experience of finding well-suited IT candidates; they have extensive internal and external databases of quality candidates, plus access to all the major job boards.  Following a meeting with the company director at the online legal services company just days before the legislation came into effect, Xist4 appreciated the necessity to look for local candidates with a strong background in developing, coupled with an understanding of e-commerce who would appreciate the company ethos and strive at working to such quick deadlines.

After a thorough search of their databases and advertising the role on several job boards, Xist4 conducted initial face to face conversations with potential candidates before presenting the company with the CV’s from a refined short list of just three candidates.

The Results

Just ten days after receiving the brief, the online legal service company interviewed the three shortlisted candidates and offered the role to one of them, who started with them in less than two weeks.

Their swift response to developing and optimising a site meant that the legal services company continued to attract millions of visitors to their site for everything from advice on family and employment law to information on road traffic law and finding a local solicitor.

"The service we received from Xist4 was extremely professional. Gozie understood that we were working to a tight deadline and made every resource available for our search. Communication between parties was outstanding and we would use them again in the future."

eCommerce and mCommerce Solutions Provider

The Challenge

To source multiple technical and non technical IT roles

Rapid growth for any company needs careful management especially when it involves expanding key departments. When an international commerce specialist decided to open their first UK operation in London they faced the challenging task of trying to fill a number of technical and non technical IT roles.  To help them with their search they sought an IT recruitment company who could demonstrate a successful track record of recruiting across many technology related areas, who would be capable of quickly identifying the right talent.

The Solution

Upon receiving the initial brief, Xist4’s director, Gozie Ezulike, met with the relevant line managers to get a better understanding of their requirements and to appreciate the level of skills needed for each role.  Since the company needed Software Engineers, DevOps, QA Engineers, Performance Testers, Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Product Owners, iOS Developers and Android Developers, Xist4 decided to assigned dedicated account managers with vertical market specialities. They worked alongside the line mangers to determine the recruitment strategy for their vacancies.

For many of the vacancies it was agreed to adopt a traditional recruitment strategy; so job adverts were written and optimised and placed across the major technology job boards in the UK. Parallel to this approach, Xist4 also used social and business media platforms to engage with passive applicants who would be interested in a once in a career opportunity of joining a major international technology PLC as they opened their UK division.

The Results

The company's headquarters based in the heart of the in the City now houses over 70 employees; many of whom joined the company as a direct result of Xist4’s recruitment process. As with any vacancy in London the level of interest in each role was extremely high and Xist4’s strategy identified numerous candidates with extremely strong profiles across each area. Before introducing potential candidates the account managers at Xist4 spent time ensuring those shortlisted matched the full criteria for each role, plus had the right personality to help develop the company’s new operation in London.  Since partnering with Xist4 to fill these initial vacancies, Xist4 has become their full time IT recruitment partner.

"We have only been using XIST4 for a short period of time. However, during this period they have been able to provide us with high calibre engineering employees who are now growing within our organisation. The process of finding and understanding what we require truly sets XIST4 apart. Gozie and his team are always available to answer any questions at any given time making them a very reliable recruitment firm. We hope to continue and build on our relationship with XIST4."

Cloud-based FinTech Start-up

The Challenge

To source specialists in quantitative analysis and development.

The FinTech sector is a rapidly expanding sector developing technology to engage with or to deliver financial services. London is leading the way with many companies taking advantage of investment and choosing to start-up offering FinTech technology solutions.

One of these new companies developed a cloud-based software solution that used behavioural data analytics to help professional investors to make more skilled investment decisions. This software enables hedge and traditional active fund managers to capture richer data about their own behaviour and its context, to understand where their individual skills and weaknesses lie, identify patterns, and apply that enhanced self-awareness to achieve improved performance.

In order to continue their rapid growth the company required highly sought after specialists in quantitative analysis and development. Good Quant Developers are in high demand and even shorter supply. In addition, the successful candidates for this start-up needed to understand complex mathematical financial data sets, as well as having Python and Pandas development experience too.

The Solution

Knowing the IT industry and understanding the competition amongst recruitment companies for good Quant Developers was the key to Xist4’s successful placement for this innovative start up. Xist4 devised a recruitment strategy that would work alongside the traditional methods of recruitment which included advertising on key job boards, conducting a database search but also using targeted social media platforms and niche forums to identify and attract the right talent.

Having identified several prospective candidates Xist4 spent additional time qualifying the breadth of their experience and learning more about them as a person. It is imperative that people joining a start up company fit the culture of the company and can quickly contribute to its overall growth.

The Results

From the time of receiving the brief from the client the team at Xist4 were able to successfully source several candidates they knew would be right for the role in less than six weeks. From these candidates the client felt two people stood out amongst the rest so offered them a role within the company. Xist4’s speed and depth of knowledge impressed the client so much that they have decided to partner with Xist4 for future IT related vacancies.

"As a FinTech start-up business it has been important to us to partner with a specialist IT recruitment agency with experience of working with start-ups, and a true understanding of what we're looking for, both technically and culturally. We don't have time to waste, and we don't have a dedicated HR function. Xist4 IT Recruitment has proved that they "get it".

In a short space of time they managed to successfully place 2 highly talented Quant Developers into our team, and we look forward to working with them on future hires. We would highly recommend Xist4 IT Recruitment to companies like us, who value talent, communication and results."

International information security consultancy

The Challenge

To source an IT Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) Consultant

When an international cyber and information security company moved from London to Cheltenham they needed to find an IT recruitment partner that they could trust to find a niche IT Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) Consultant. The client was fully aware how difficult this task would be since the right individual needed  finance experience and to be based in the South West of England, happy to travel throughout the UK and Europe.

The Solution

Firstly Xist4 visited the client at their new base to get a better understanding of their business and their culture in order to match the most talented person to this environment with the right skills. After the meeting Xist4 tailored a recruitment fulfilment strategy that incorporated traditional recruitment activities with more pro-active methods such as referral networking within the finance domain and other social and business networking platforms.

The Results

Xist4’s search identified several key individuals; after a thorough candidate qualification process involving face-to-face, video conferencing and telephone interviewing, they were able to knowingly prepare a short list of talented IT GRC candidates perfect for the vacancy. This attention to detail saved valuable time and energy since Xist4 found the client an individual that was able to deliver against a number of high profile projects. Based on this success, Xist4 became their full time IT recruitment partner.

"We have had a very positive working experience working with Xist4 IT Recruitment. Gozie was very proactive in making sure that our requirements were understood, which meant that all the CV's sent to us were relevant, saving us time and effort. He also made certain that all interviewees were briefed properly.

All the candidates we interviewed were of very high quality and the only difficulty was in narrowing the choice down to one."

ONLINE GAMING COMPANY

The Challenge

To recruit people highly proficient in technology, with a background in e-commerce and an understanding of online gaming.

When your website is your sole link to your audience its maintenance and functionality become of primary importance; none more so for an online gambling company. Their interactive website is used by millions every day, 24 hours a day, to place bets on the outcome of Europe’s most popular lottery draws.

This means that the website cannot afford any down time and behind the scenes the company needs to utilise sophisticated software to process transactions for electronic fund transfers and to handle customer relationships.  Anyone joining this online gaming company had to appreciate the absolute need to ensure the website is always available and ideally understand both the world of e-commerce and the complexities surrounding online gambling.

The Solution

Finding people to fit this client’s precise requirements would be seen as a challenge for some recruitment companies, not so for Xist4.  Using their focused recruitment process they have excelled in finding people with a breadth of skills for this popular online gaming company.  By taking the time to understand the strict parameters that the company works within, Xist4 made it a key priority to seek candidates who they knew would be able to cope in such a demanding environment and could fill the full criteria of the job.

For each position that Xist4 was seeking to fill, be it as a service desk support agent or a Java developer, Xist4 initially checked that each person had the right balance of skills needed for the vacancy.  Then during a face to face interview they were able to assess that person’s working knowledge of the two key areas; e-commerce and online gambling.

The Results

Having conducted these essential pre-interviews Xist4 could reliably present their client with a refined short list of candidates from whom they could choose several people to attend interviews with other members from the online gaming company.

For Xist4 following their thorough process to assess not only someone’s professional capability, but also to make a judgement about that person’s suitability to fit the culture of the company, saved their client valuable time.  In a 24 hour business time is money; to be presented with competent people, perfect for the company with the right level of skills, meant the successful person started just four weeks following the receipt of the client’s brief.

"I’ve decided to give Gozie this recruitment responsibility, because to him providing Human Resources means building a relationship with the Company, understanding its management and what is really needed to fit the environment and the role"

E-learning Training Company

The Challenge

To urgently find 2 web developers for an online e-learning training company.

As one of the market leaders of e-learning solutions for over 200 organisations, developing engaging online courses is key to the company’s continued success.

To cope with the increased demand from their clients, the Bath based e-learning company initially tried to find candidates themselves to little success.

As the need for two junior e-learning web developers became even more pressing, they enlisted specialist Bristol based IT recruitment agency, Xist4 to do this on their behalf.

The Solution

Xist4 met with the client and immediately assigned a dedicated account manager to work with them to appreciate the full scope of the role and the technical requirements needed. Once they understood the client’s requirements, the Xist4 account manager focussed eorts on only sourcing junior/graduate level professionals based in the South West of England or those willing to seriously consider relocating to the south west. Xist4 sourced potential candidates by posting optimized adverts on University graduate job boards, social media platforms and their own high trac website. Their aim was to maximise the search for candidates whose online portfolios demonstrated a real passion for development and digital technology.

The Results

With such an immediate need, Xist4 knew from past experience in IT recruitment that the candidates would all need to be willing to quickly assimilate knowledge and ‘hit the ground running’.

They looked for competence and confidence, something that is hard to outline on a CV so conducted one to one interviews with all potential candidates. The interviews helped to assess their suitability for the role and to determine if they would fit in with the culture of the company. This process of short listing candidates ensured the right candidates were sourced and employed in a very short time frame.

"We contacted Xist4 to help us source two web developers. From the outset, the team were great to deal with – very friendly, professional and responsive.

The candidates we were sent had all been vetted carefully and were well suited for the role, which saved us a lot of time reviewing and short listing CV’s. In fact, the only real headache was choosing between them, as they all had real strengths!

I have no hesitation in recommending Xist4 to any business looking to source the best candidates; they’re great to work with and get results."

Not for profit professional body

The Challenge

To fill an immediate vacancy for a technical services manager for a small not for profit Professional body.

For smaller organisations adjusting to the departure of a key manager needs to be handled quickly and carefully; ensuring that the right individual can be sourced quickly to maintain continuity.

When a small not for profit Professional body based in Bristol was faced with having to replace their technical services manager and thus fill an all-encompassing and diverse job requirement at short notice, they realised that they needed to turn to a local IT recruitment consultancy. Xist4 stepped in with the know-how and the ability to source relevant local candidates who were available with little or no notice.

The Solution

A technical services manager has an important role in any organisation, but in this particular instance the role was pivotal to the Professional Body maintaining their website’s e-learning and e-commerce functions. In addition to this, the right candidate would be required to manage all the internal oce IT systems and to coordinate and manage third party service providers.

Given such a complex and immediate requirement, Xist4 wasted no time assigning an experienced account manager to act as an IT recruitment partner and exploring what key technical and non technical skills were important to this role. Armed with this information, Xist4 focussed their search on finding available local professionals who had a broad IT skill set, along with experience of managing outsourced vendors. Using their wide networking contacts, Xist4 undertook intensive job board advertising, which they ran in conjunction with a social media search and featured the job on their own high trac website as well.

The Results

By focusing their search within 30 miles of Bristol and having pinpointed the exact skills needed, Xist4 was able to recommend suitable candidates. Before presenting the client with the candidate CV’s, Xist4’s account manager took time to personally speak to each candidate to thoroughly assess their suitability and availability. This thorough process ensured the right candidate was able to fill the vacancy quickly.

As the global professional body for an emerging discipline we rely on our IT systems and partners to achieve our objectives. To support our corporate and individual members, disseminate knowledge, host exams and reach new audiences across the world we need to be confident that our systems are robust and suppliers delivering. Our Technical Services Manager has the dual responsibilities of managing internal oce IT and ensuring our suppliers deliver.

Xist4 were given a brief to identify technical competence, operational experience and partnership working. Character and approach to work were also really important to the organisation as we maintain an open, friendly and member focused culture. The real challenge with the brief however, was the turn-around time to ensure sufficient handover. We are delighted with the result of the search and the appointee is adding considerable value and allowing us to progress a  number of fronts.

Before presenting a shortlist of candidates to the client, the dedicated Xist4 account manager spent time interviewing each candidate to thoroughly assess their suitability. As a result of this extensive process Xist4 was able to recommend  several candidates for the role, allowing the cloud storage company to fill their much needed vacancy.

"Our requirements as a fast growth startup are very specific and always challenging to meet in the highly competitive cloud computing market. We briefed Gozie on a particularly hard to fill position which combined technical knowledge, management experience and languages. This role had been opened for a few months with other recruitment agencies not delivering the quality of profiles we expected.

In a short space of time Gozie was able to present very strong candidates and facilitate a complex interview process with interviewers in different countries. We ended up in a position where it was a difficult decision to choose between 2 top talents Gozie had presented to us!"
